It's time to tip off outdoor basketball! While indoor basketball gyms remain closed, we are lucky to live in the city with the greatest weather in the world! Kids and parents are ready for basketball to be back, and Master Sports will make sure everyone remembers when their basketball league moved outside and it was the greatest experience ever! Join us in creating this unique blacktop basketball league experience that your player will remember forever. We are decorating our courts, playing music, wearing awesome reversible uniforms and training with our pod team. Each week we will have a "Training Night" with lots of training aids available to our coaches. "Competition Day" will consist of challenges and competitions like relay races, 3-point, free throw, lay up contests, and more! We hope you will join us; it's time to play!
Please contact Ryan Conroy at Ryan@MasterSports.com for any questions regarding the Steet Hoops program, to volunteer as a head coach/assistant coach, or to submit any pods or player grouping requests.
All Street Hoops Outdoor Basketball Training League activities will take place outdoors at the various rec centers/parks listed. Head coaches and assistant coaches will be required to wear facial coverings at all times. Once in their pods/teams, players will be required to wear facial coverings during exercise activities in which six foot distance between players cannot be maintained. All players and coaches are required to have their temperature taken before participating in any training nights and competition nights for the Street Hoops program. All other CDC and California State Mandates/Requirements for social distancing and proper sanitation will be followed at all times.
Coaching: Each team pod will require one parent volunteer head coach and one to two parent volunteer assistant coaches. Coaches are provided with practice outlines, lesson plans, and equipment to conduct smooth and productive team practices. The recreational divisions are dependent on parent-volunteer participation. High School student volunteers may also participate, but parents always have priority to coach. Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to coach your child’s team! Please email Ryan Conroy at Ryan@MasterSports.com with the division and location you wish to coach for the upcoming season.
Practice Info: Practice days/times are determined by coaches of individual teams. Coaches will not know their preferred day/time until they have been requested. Players cannot be moved to different teams due to practice schedule conflicts. Practices are expected to be held in the late afternoons to early evenings on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday, but are again determined by coaches of individual teams.
Competition Days: Pod competitions will be played on Friday Evenings and/or Saturdays.
Team Formation: Registration is available either as a team/pod or a free agent. Pods may be formed with up to 12 players (head coach and assistant coach required for pre-formed pod teams). Smaller pods may also be submitted, and will be filled out with "free agent" players bringing the pod size to 12 players. All friend teammate requests will be accepted and honored for the Winter Street Hoops Season.
Uniforms/Jerseys: All players for all divisions will receive a reversible jersey to wear for each practice and competition day, and a pair of shorts. Players will keep their jersey and shorts at the end of the season.
